Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission Granted Full Licences to 06 Hospitals and Provisional Licenses to 109 Health Care Establishments.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission (KP HCC) proudly organized a license award ceremony to acknowledge and honor outstanding Health Care Establishments. The event, held on June 26, 2023, at the auditorium of the Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Hayatabad in Peshawar, marked a significant milestone for the KP HCC and its commitment to ensuring high-quality health care services for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the ceremony, full licenses were granted to Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, Rehman Medical Institute, Shaukat Khanam Cancer Hospital and Research Center, North West General Hospital and Research Center, Afridi Medical Complex, MMC General Hospital.
The license award ceremony was attended by distinguished Board members of the Health Care Commission, senior management, staff members and representatives from the health care establishments and other guests.
Dr. Nadeem Akhtar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Health Care Commission, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the commission’s journey over the past year. He outlined significant developments achieved, including the establishment of the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS), comprehensive training programs for hospitals and clinical laboratories on MSDS, diligent assessments leading to the award of licenses, and the formulation of regulations for Health Care Commission.
Dr. Nadeem Akhtar also proudly shared that the registration of health care establishments had increased to an impressive figure of 14,000, double the number in just one year. This remarkable progress was attributed to the successful digitization and simplification of the registration process.
Furthermore, he provided details of the rigorous inspections conducted to combat quackery and the resolution of approximately 1000 complaints within a year, demonstrating the commission’s commitment to protecting public health.
In addition to the full licenses, provisional licenses were awarded to 109 health care establishments, recognizing their commitment to meeting the required standards and fostering continuous improvement.
Dr. Ikhram Ghani, Chairman of the Board of Health Care Commission, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his congratulatory remarks, Dr. Ikram Ghani emphasized the paramount importance of licensing and the tremendous benefits it brings to the public. He expressed his pride in the awardees and encouraged all health care establishments to adhere to the highest standards of quality and patient care.
