Introduction to Licensing:

A license is a permit granted by the KP Healthcare Commission (KPHCC) to a Healthcare establishment (HCE) to use the of any premises or conveyance as a Healthcare Establishment under the KP HCC Act 2015

A Healthcare Establishment means a hospital, diagnostic center, medical clinic, nursing home, maternity home, dental clinic, homeopathic clinic, tibb clinic or any other premises or conveyances wholly or partly used for providing healthcare services.

Licensing is a mandatory process and no Healthcare Establishment can function or operate without obtaining license from the KPHCC. The license focuses on implementing the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) for the provision of healthcare services. It sets the standards that healthcare Establishment must adhere to and implement in order to operate and provide quality medical services.

Provisional Licensing:

The Healthcare service provider will submit an application on the prescribed Form, complete in all respects as determined by the KP-HCC, along with the prescribed documents and fee. The KP-HCC will issue a provisional license to the Healthcare Establishment on receipt of the license form fulfilling all the prescribed requirements.

Regular Licensing:

A Regular License shall be issued by the Commission to such an Applicant whose application has been accepted by the Commission after inspection and it has fully complied with the provisions of the KP-HCC Act 2015, Licensing Regulations as well as the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS).
