One-Day Seminar on “Why License” at BKMC, Mardan

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission (KP HCC) organized a one-day seminar titled “Why Licensing” at Bacha Khan Medical College, Peshawar. The event was aimed at creating awareness among medical students and faculty members about the importance of licensing for health care establishments.

Faculty members and students of the college participated actively in the seminar. Dr. Shafa Haider Sawal, Director Registration, KP HCC, delivered the keynote address, where she emphasized that licensing is a critical regulatory tool to ensure the delivery of safe and quality healthcare services to the public.

He explained that licensing helps in the implementation of Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS), which are designed to promote patient safety, accountability, and institutional excellence. He highlighted that the process is not just a legal formality but a core mechanism for improving healthcare outcomes across the province.

Dr. Shafa further noted that ensuring compliance with licensing requirements is one of the key objectives of the Commission, which is committed to strengthening the health system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through effective regulation and oversight.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, encouraging future healthcare professionals to prioritize ethical practices, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to public service in their careers.
